Christmas Song #2 from Bethlehem by mreport
A second song we recorded from our time in Bethlehem during Christmas of 2007.
Lyrics:
Some are born to live, but never see the cross.
The manger that held the mighty, great Lord —
(Was it a quick choice? Or part of a grander plan?)
In that manger the sacrificial lamb — the Christ — was born.
Defying death, He walked (symbolically) forward.
The swords wanted one thing — is that the destiny of the Lamb?
(Contrast)
When the mighty are finished, there is no chance of glory remaining for those in need.
People live for life — but He found death waiting to meet Him.
We lose sight of the cross, covered below high mountains.
Does the crying baby anticipate the pain of the cross?
The cries call for me to return to my Beloved …
Jesus.
