She’s crying for her mom.
Tears stream down her face as I pull the little girl dressed in green and blue jeans to me.
“It’s okay,” I say, putting her on my lap. I rock her back-and-forth. Finally, the waterworks stop flowing. She sits for a long time, not saying or doing anything, completely satisfied.
