As a team of musicians from across the United States completed their visit to Mumbai, India, another team from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary arrived. Their goal is to visit in homes and to conduct training in Chronological Bible Storying. Below are some quotes from their first days in the city:
“It’s like we’ve woken up. We understand … how to share,” said a national believer following a training session.
“We will have victory in Jesus,” said a local pastor as one team entered the slums to share.
“Demon spirit out. Jesus in,” proclaimed a local pastor after a troubled woman came to Christ.
“It’s nothing like baseball,” said a team member on learning to play cricket.
“It was such an encouragement to know someone was praying for you,” explained a team member, noting that other team members were praying for him as he shared.
“We all have a part in seeing someone come to Christ. … It’s not about being the one to lead the prayer; it’s about everyone working together,” a team member said about team unity.
“It didn’t matter if they made a mistake or gave a flawless presentation. They just wanted to share the gospel!” exclaimed a team member about two national Christians.
“It’s been an encouragement to see so many young girls so strong in their faith,” said a team member about discipling some young girls in the local church.
“I always wanted to have a talent to use for God, but I never thought I would have a talent for the Lord. But you’ve come and taught me how to play the piano and now I have a talent I can use to bring glory to God!” said a local believer after a team member taught her some basic piano skills.
