What do you do when you need to bathe? You go turn on your shower or, better yet, run a hot bath. What about when you need water for cooking? You get water from your kitchen sink. What about when you are really thirsty? I mean, you have just been working out in the yard, or you have just finished with a really intense workout. What do you do? You grab a bottle of water or go to your refrigerator and get a nice cool glass of water; sometimes even with ice cubes.

Have you ever thought about what it would be like to walk miles just to bring back a couple of buckets of water to use for your everyday living purposes? We visited a Hindu village outside the city today. This is one of forty Hindu villages in this area. Right in the middle of these villages, the Lord has provided a small plot of land for a local pastor and his orphanage. A couple of years ago, this pastor felt that God was telling him to have a bore well dug on this land in order to provide water. The government came and surveyed. They said that there is no water in that place. They told him not to even try. They gave him no hope. He proceeded anyway by faith.

The day the people came to dig for water, the pastor and his family and a few friends who are also believers, gathered around the area and prayed for water. The villagers all stood by watching and laughing. They thought the pastor was being foolish and did not believe that God could provide this for them. The men digging had gone more than 300ft down and said they should stop. The pastor urged them to continue and the group continued praying. As the villagers stood by laughing, there was a sudden loud rushing noise and up from the ground came water and mud. The mud covered the villagers who had been laughing and doubting the power of the Most High God.

This village now has water that is easily available to them. This miracle has also opened a door for this pastor to be welcomed in this area. Please pray that these people will continue to remember this miracle and come to know the Most High God that not only can provide them with water to drink, but can quench their thirst with living water for eternity.

John 4:14 “…But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”
