It’s all part of a short-term trip: months of planning, lots of Excel spreadsheets and preparing a schedule for day-to-day activities. But things always have a way of changing. From both sides of the pond, the contents in the overhead bin always shift! Plan A, B then C… fly through your head but what happens when the alphabet runs out?
Yesterday, 11 members of the team got stuck in the Newark airport when it was evacuated. Flights were delayed and canceled, now 20 hours later they are back on the plane. Meanwhile, across the pond hotel reservation chaos, empty airport pick-ups and lost luggage rain down. But, rather than inserting his own unchangeable plan and being frustrated Mike, the team leader, sees all these logistical snags… as God’s plan.
The pressure is off his shoulders. “God is in control … I feel at peace,” he says.
It’s the bigger picture of taking things one day at a time, committing every day to the Lord and seeing where He is at work that makes this trip successful.
“The success is following God, being in tune with Him and then seeing what happens.”
